The next scheduled holiday when Rainbow's End will be closed is Friday, November 11, 2016, in observance of Veterans Day.

Rainbow’s End Child Development Center was established to meet the need for quality and convenient child care to the children of Southern Illinois University Carbondale students, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as, the Southern Illinois community.  The primary goal of the Center is to provide a secure, educational, and positive atmosphere for children. The Center is committed to providing a program which embodies developmentally appropriate practices and principles by following standards outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Some highlights of our program include:

  • Licensed by State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)

  • Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

  • Well-balanced curriculum following Creative Curriculum guidelines

  • Skilled and experienced teaching staff

  • Child: Teacher ratios lower than required by utilizing SIU Carbondale Early Childhood students

  • Spacious building with seven classrooms, indoor activity room and three playgrounds

  • Participant in U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Program
